Inspiration at the Creative Company Conference 2010

We have some really cool conference going on here in the Netherlands and somehow this year everyones focus is on design / design thinking / service design. Organized for the 3rd year the Creative Company Conference, which is taking place on September 14th in Haarlem, is one of these conferences. The official theme this year is Design Thinking, Service Design, Reinventing the Creative Agency en Transmedia Storytelling. Along with a long theme description the #CCC10 -speaking in twitter hashtags- is featuring some very interesting speakers and workshops (programme) this year.

Business people don’t need to understand designers better. They need to be designers. That makes them better business people.

I’m very happy to see Oliver King coming over to the Netherlands once again. But I’m also really looking forward to see Ross Zietz who’s the art director of Threadless and Scott Belsky author of Making Ideas Happen.

The Dutch service design community is extremely well represented at the #CCC10 with workshops from STBY, DesignThinkers, EdenSpiekermann and 31Volts (take a look at Dutch Service Design Network to see how we cooperate).

Workshop: Service Thinking in practice
In our workshop we’ll be focusing on an topic that really fascinates us here at 31Volts; applying service thinking to product-oriented businesses. Not to replace a product but to figure out how you can design successful product-service offerings. There are countless of examples but some iconic ones are for sure Nike+ and the Nespresso.
